What Is Special Education? Special education gives extra support to students with learning, behavioral, emotional, or physical challenges. It ensures each child has the chance to learn in a way that works best for them.
Students may qualify for special education if they:

What Is an IEP?
An IEP is a legal plan developed by a team to meet a student’s individual learning needs. It includes:
- Student strengths and challenges

- Services the school will provide
- Accommodations or supports in class
- How progress will be measured

What Is Child Find?
Child Find is the school’s responsibility to identify students who may need special education support. Parents, teachers, or others can make a referral.
